When you create an Alpaca account, we may collect:
- Name- Email address (if provided through Sign in with Apple)- Profile photo- Username- Account preferences
Content You Create
When you use Alpaca, we may collect and store:
- Photos you upload- Reflections and captions- Optional location information- Notes and note replies- Profile information- Follow and follower relationships
Device and Usage Information
We may automatically collect:
- Device type- Operating system version- App version- Crash reports- Diagnostic information- Analytics events related to app usage
We do not collect the contents of private messages for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Operate and maintain Alpaca- Create and manage user accounts- Display content to approved followers- Enable notes, follows, likes, and notifications- Improve reliability and performance- Monitor crashes and technical issues- Understand how users interact with the Service

3. Analytics and Diagnostics
Alpaca uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
These services help us understand:
- App usage- Feature adoption- Retention- Crashes and errors
We do not intentionally send private reflections, note text, location text, usernames, or photo URLs to analytics systems.
Examples of analytics events may include:
- Account creation- Sign in- Entry creation- Notes sent- Follow requests- Follow approvals- Calendar usage- Activity usage

4. Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, Alpaca may send push notifications related to:
- Follow requests- Follow approvals- Notes- Note replies- Other activity relevant to your account
You can disable notifications through your device settings at any time.

5. How Content Is Shared
Alpaca is designed around user-controlled privacy.
Private Accounts
If your account is private:
- Only approved followers can view your entries.- Follow requests require approval.
Public Accounts
If your account is public:
- Your entries may be visible to other users of the Service.
Notes
Notes are intended to be private conversations associated with entries.
Visibility is restricted according to Alpaca's privacy and access controls.

6. Data Storage
Alpaca uses trusted third-party infrastructure providers to store and process information.
These providers may include:
- Supabase- Google Firebase- Apple services
Data may be processed and stored in countries outside your place of residence.

7. Account Deletion
You may stop using Alpaca at any time.
If you wish to request deletion of your account or personal data, please contact:

We will make reasonable efforts to process deletion requests in accordance with applicable law.

8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect user information.
However, no system can guarantee complete security.
You use the Service at your own risk.

9. Children's Privacy
Alpaca is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If changes are made, we will update the "Last Updated" date above.
Continued use of Alpaca after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
